In the Company of Angels: A Call to Worship

"Thy Mercy" by Caedmon's Call

Thy mercy my God is the theme of my song,
The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue.
Thy free grace alone, from the first to the last,
Hath won my affection and bound my soul fast.

Without Thy sweet mercy, I could not live here.
Sin would reduce me to utter despair,
But through Thy free goodness, my spirit's revived
And He that first made me still keeps me alive.

Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart,
Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart.
Dissolved by Thy goodness, I fall to the ground
And weep for the praise of the mercy I've found.

Hallelujah

Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own
In the covenant blood of Thy crucified Son.
All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine.
All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine.

Hallelujah

"Home Again, Home Again"

Well, perhaps, I "jiggidy jig[ged]" in the house (with newly refurnished bathrooms) that sits at the top of Mallow Court, but now I have arrived back at TMC... for two and a half more weeks before Christmas break. I did indeed have a wonderful time in KC, especially being with my sister, but... I wish the semester was over. An interesting two weeks, I have no doubt these will be - two 15 page papers, a couple huge exams, reading, and various other assignments will be completed, the feeling of accomplishment being shown with a smile and a sigh.

Praise the Lord for Christmas!
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.' All this took place to fullfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 'Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel' (which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus." White Thanksgiving

Snow!

Tuesday, November 23, 2004

Kansas City, MO

This here is a beautiful place. There is a chance for snow on Thanksgiving too! That would be beautiful and exciting.

It was wonderful to see my sister, one of the people I love most in the whole world.

Answers to Questions

These questions were posed by an old friend named Matt LaHatt. The answers are mine.
What does your heart feel like?
I don't know what my heart feels like because my hand has never grasped it. Each beat matches the click of my heels... I want to go home.
What do you collect?
I collect memories of life and promises of God.
Where is your favorite place to eat?
Home, my favorite place to eat is home.
How many fingers am I holding up?
It depends on if I'm wearing my glasses or not. There are such things as illusions. But thankfully there is only one Truth.

Randomness of the Holiday Season

Bibles and books and pencils and crayons...
Letters, letters, letters...

A couple nights ago my wing had a preChristmas party - a week before Thanksgiving?
I do love the holidays - the smells, the lights, the decor, the food.

When I have a home of my own some day I want to have lots of pictures, candles, pillows, books, and deep, rich, beautiful color.

I really like wind chimes.

Decisions Decisions

"All thing are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything.
--1 Corinthians 6:12

"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.

--1 Corinthians 10:23-24

See... Pollyanna has some great lines.

I'm buff. For me. Buffer than I've ever been. I think.

Shakespeare's Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love ’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error, and upon me prov’d,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov’d.

Beginnings...

This is my first post... perhaps it will be my last.
